The understanding food defense training covers the following learning objectives. This food defense basics course gives you a solid intro to food defense online and builds food defense awareness training for all food handlers.

- Difference between Food Safety and Food Defense — knowing the distinction is critical for intentional harm prevention
- Protecting the food from intentional harm — a core element of food defense vs food fraud awareness
- Inform suspicious activities. Report food safety or defense issues to the supervisor — includes identifying suspicious activities food plant and proper reporting
- Be a safe worker, follow safety guidelines.
- How to handle an unauthorized visitor? — practical steps for handling unauthorized visitors
- Promote and ensure compliance to food security awareness for employees and food defense fundamentals.

How to Run this Training?
- On opening the training interface/page, you will see the training modules listed on the left in a sequence. Clicking on the introduction or module 1 will lead you to the training.
- On the top right corner, you will see backward/forward arrows, trainer's profile button and training course results icon.
- Below this, the top of the page displays course progress, and current module progress.
- On the main page, click on the video button to start the training video.
- At the bottom of video, you will see the following keys.
- On the left bottom, there is a start/stop key and a volume button to decrease/increase volume.
- On the right, you will find the timer running and full screen button.
- The Training Modules Sequence — the training modules must be taken in order, one after the other.
- It's mandatory for a trainee to watch the full video without skipping parts, as module videos are locked. Trainees need to finish watching a module in order to complete the training.
- Skipping video slices is strictly auto-monitored and trainees won't be able to move to the next part/unit/module if video parts are skipped.
- For better understanding, the video timeline has boxes over it, which clear themselves once that specific part is watched.
- To move on, all boxes on the video timeline need to be cleared.
